Understanding Melanocortins

Melanocortins are a group of peptide hormones that include adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and different forms of melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH). They exert their effects by binding to five specific melanocortin receptors (MC1R to MC5R).
